Explore a variety of helpful tools on my Sun Life. Tools available include the Asset Allocation Tool, Retirement Planner, One Plan, and a wide range of calculators. Access the self-serve financial planning tools on My Sun Life. Once logged on navigate to Manage plan > My Plan>Tools.

See the funds available in the plan and their performance through Morningstar®, a leading provider of investment news and analysis. Log on to my Sun Life and navigate to My plan > Manage plan > Select Plan Overview > View available investments

Manage your plan online quickly and easily by logging into Sun Life or the my Sun Life mobile app.

Find your comfort level with investment risk by completing the Asset allocation tool. Select my financial centre > Resource Centre > my money tools > Asset allocation tool. After you complete the short questionnaire, this tool recommends an investment mix that matches how much investment risk you’re comfortable with.

To get detailed tools through Morningstar®, a leading provider of investment news and analysis, select my financial centre > Accounts > Investment performance. Select a fund’s name for more detailed information or use the tabs at the top of the page for more advanced tools.

The Retirement planner helps you figure out how much you need to save to meet your personal retirement goals. We save the information you enter, so you can review it any time to monitor your progress. To use this tool, select my financial centre > Resource Centre > my money tools > Retirement planner.

To update your payroll contributions, investments and beneficiaries, see the steps in the chart below.

Payroll contributions Investments Beneficiary
  • Select Requests > Payroll contributions.
  • Review how much you’re currently contributing and make changes as needed.
  • Select Submit.
  • Select Requests > Change investments.
  • Choose whether to change only future contributions, only existing savings or both.
  • Choose what percentage you want to direct to each available fund.
  • Copy these instructions to other products if you want.
  • After reviewing your changes, select Submit.
  • Select Quick Links > Beneficiary info.
  • Review your current beneficiary information.
  • f you want to make a change, select Edit, following the instructions and select Update to save your changes.
  • After reviewing your changes, select Submit.

If you’ve transferred out of Canada, your money will stay in Canada as part of the plan. While you won’t be able to make any new contributions, your money will continue to earn investment income and you’ll still be able to manage your plan online.

If you move outside the country and you need to register for Sun Life, pick Canada as your country and use the generic postal code M1M 1M1.
